1. Christmas tan done – keep it looking fresh with these top tips…
-Hydration is Key: Keep your skin deeply moisturized twice daily using an oil-free, water-based moisturizer. Hydrated skin retains a tan longer and fades more evenly. Avoid heavy oils which can make the tan patchy.
-Gentle Cleansing: Use mild, pH-balanced shower gels. Avoid harsh soaps or scrubs on your body.
-Pat Dry, Don’t Rub: Always pat your skin gently with a towel after showering; rubbing causes friction and removes the tan prematurely in patches.
2. The Fade out plan…
-Around December 28th/29th, you need to start encouraging the tan to lift and lighten evenly.
-Introduce Gentle Exfoliation: Start using a mild, non-abrasive exfoliating mitt in the shower. Focus lightly on areas where the tan fades fastest (ankles, wrists, chest).
-Warm Baths: Soaking in a warm (not scorching hot) bath for 10-15 minutes can help loosen dead skin cells, assisting the natural fading process.
3. Time for that New Year Glow
-You need a completely clean canvas for your New Year’s Eve tan. Any remaining old tan can block the new solution from developing evenly, leading to streaks or dark patches.
-Full Exfoliation Session: The day before your NYE appointment is “Strip Day.” Use a exfoliating mitt to gently scrub away all lingering traces of the old tan.
-Shave/Wax: Complete any hair removal during this session. Exfoliation and shaving go hand-in-hand.
-Cool Shower Rinse: Finish with a cool rinse to close your pores.
-Zero Products: Do not apply any moisturizer, deodorant, perfume, or oils after this shower. Your skin must be perfectly clean and dry for your final NYE glow appointment.
